I’m interested in how communication shapes who gets seen, understood, and supported within healthcare systems.

My Story

Outside of my day job as a creative director, I am a graduate student at SUNY New Paltz, studying Strategic Communication and its impact on healthcare communication, stakeholder engagement, and health equity.

My research focuses on how vulnerable populations navigate healthcare messaging and how both health systems and nonprofit organizations can develop more inclusive, data-informed communication strategies.

Designing communication that drives equity in healthcare

My research explores how strategic communication can improve access, understanding, and equity within complex healthcare systems. I focus on at-risk populations and examine how messaging, systems, and stakeholder relationships shape real-world outcomes.

Grounded in frameworks such as situational theory and attitudinal publics, my work challenges one-size-fits-all communication and advances more inclusive, responsive approaches.

Research focus

My research is not theoretical—it directly informs how I lead and build communication systems in practice. In my role at Mass General Brigham Health Plan, I translate insights into scalable campaigns, accessible content frameworks, and AI-enabled workflows that improve clarity, compliance, and performance. My focus is on creating strategies that work in the real world—especially for the audiences who are often overlooked.

Applied impact

  • How do vulnerable and at-risk populations navigate healthcare communication—and where do breakdowns occur?

  • How can organizations design messaging that reflects lived experience, not just regulatory requirements?

  • What role do environmental and social determinants of health play in communication strategy?

  • How can stakeholder engagement move from transactional to truly participatory?
